Faculty Profile
Biography
My name is Joshua White, and I am an adjunct instructor with the NSU graduate nursing program. It has always been my passion to help educate other nurses and help grow a profession that has given me so much. I am a native of Shreveport, LA. Currently, I am the medical director for the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center Homeless Program. In my nursing career I have accumulated a diverse background of nursing experience that includes critical care, mental health, ER, surgery, and cardiology.
My healthcare passions include preventative health, chronic disease management and health care education. I am married to my amazing wife, and we have a precious (18 Month Old) little girl. We are also expecting another baby girl in May of 2023. When not in practice, I serve in both the health awareness ministry and the youth ministry at my church. I also enjoy traveling, exercising, and community service.
My preferred communication method is via NSU e-mail (whitejo@nsula.edu) or Moodle messaging. Please remember to be professional. Any e-mail correspondence will be returned within 24 hours. Since I am in clinic Mon-Fri, I will typically respond to all correspondence in the evening or early morning hours. I understand that we are living through uncertain times, but it is my goal to provide support to each of you in this program. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me.
Kind regards,
Joshua White
