Kathleen Tate, EdD, MSN, MBA, RN, CNE is the Traditional BSN Coordinator at Northwestern State University. As the coordinator of the traditional BSN program Dr. Tate, in collaboration with the BSN faculty, level coordinators and the Director of undergraduate studies, is responsible for management and oversight of the traditional BSN program.
Dr. Tate began her nursing career as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1984, practicing in a variety of acute and post acute care settings while pursuing her BSN degree from NSU, and graduating in 2002. Dr. Tate earned a Masters degree in Business and a Master's degree in Nursing from the University of Phoenix in 2011, and her Doctorate of Education with a specialty in Curriculum Instruction and Design from Grambling State University in 2018.She has also earned the designation of NLN Certified Nurse Educator. In addition to administrative duties, Dr. Tate teaches primarily in the undergraduate BSN program.
Dr. Tate's area of research interest include, but are not limited to, predictors of academic success in undergraduate nursing, the role of resilience in academic success, building healthy communities, and the lived experiences of nursing home administrators during the COVID-19 Pandemic.Curriculum Vitae
