Biography

Aaron Stigers, DNP, APRN, NP-C is the MSN & PMC Programs Director and also instructs as the Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) Coordinator at Northwestern State University of Louisiana. Dr. Stigers holds the rank of Associate Professor and has taught in the MSN program since 2019. As Coordinator of this Nurse Practitioner concentration, Dr. Stigers oversees clinical students in this specialty group by providing guidance in clinic settings and lecture presentation and course delivery.

Dr. Stigers completed his Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2011 at Northwestern State University and then proceeded to dive into medical surgical and intensive care hospital nursing. After working as a registered nurse for several years he returned the Northwestern State University for further education in completing a Master of Science in Nursing in 2017. Dr. Stigers worked as an AGPCNP in an internal medicine private practice for two years and was then encouraged to become an instructor at Northwestern State University. Dr. Stigers went on to earn his terminal degree in Doctor of Nursing Practice at Southeastern Louisiana University in 2024. In addition to his work at NSU, Dr. Stigers continues to provide care to clients through both Bristol Hospice and Martin Luther King Health Center agencies.
