Karn Richoux hails from St. Paul, Minnesota, and in addition to teaching technical theatre at NSU, she is also the Technical Director at Louisiana School of Math, Science, and the Arts. She has her B.A. in Theatre Arts from Hamline University in Saint Paul, MN, and then earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in Technical Production of Theatre from Florida State University. This past summer she was at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, Minnesota as the Temporary Assistant Technical Director. Karn has worked for 8 years at summer theatres in Minnesota and Maine, and was the Technical Director and Technical Theatre Teacher at McCallum Fine Arts Academy, a high school in Austin, TX for three years. She enjoys passing on the experience of hands on learning and collaboration that Technical Theatre provides to the next generation of theatre artists. Some of her favorite productions have been Little Women, The Legend of Georgia McBride, Titanic, Crimes of the Heart, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Dancing at Lughnasa, Tommy, and Little Shop of Horrors.
