Robyn Ray, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, CNE serves as a faculty member in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program and holds the rank of Associate Professor. Dr. Ray has been a practicing Family Nurse Practitioner since 2000, having worked in a wide variety of clinical settings. Dr. Ray joined Northwestern State University in 2012, initially teaching in the MSN program and serving as the Family Nurse Practitioner Program Coordinator prior to joining the DNP program in 2019. She is a Certified Nurse Educator and teaches in numerous DNP courses as well as serving as a Major Professor. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Dr. Ray is active on numerous CONSAH committees, and serves as a Faculty Senator for Northwestern State University.
Dr. Ray earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 1993 from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Northwestern State University in 2000, and her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2015. Her DNP Scholarly Project, entitled Utilization of a Clinical Reminder System to Increase the Incidence of HIV Screening in a Primary Care Clinic, addressed deficiencies in early identification of HIV disease in the adult population. Dr. Ray is an active member of the American Nurses Association, Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners, and Sigma Theta Tau International.
