Biography

Tamara Roe MSN, RN, BCEN, joined the nursing faculty at Northwestern State University of Louisiana in 2021. Mrs. Roe currently coordinates continuing education for NSU while teaching in the BSN program, first level while coordinating Professional Development and Continuing Education. While teaching full time, Mrs. Roe also works per diem in the emergency department of a local hospital. Mrs. Roe is currently pursuing her PhD in Nursing from The University of Texas at Tyler with a research focus in perinatal mental health. 

Mrs. Roe completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2010 at the University of Toledo, Toledo Ohio, and then earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Loyola University New Orleans in 2021 with a focus on nursing education. Mrs. Roe has a vast clinical background including, Med/Surg, step-down, ED, NICU/Nursery, but holds a majority of experience in Pediatric ICU. 

Mrs. Roe serves as a faculty advisor to the Shreveport Student Nurses Association and belongs to multiple organizations including Shreveport District Nurses Association (Past President), Sigma Theta Tau: Beta Chi Chapter, Louisiana State Nurses Association, and the Emergency Nurses Association.
