Biography

Li Ma is currently an Associate Professor of Microbiology at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA. Li received his postdoctoral training in Dr. Anthony W. Maresso’s lab at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. He graduated from University of Texas at Austin with a PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology under the supervision of Dr. Shelley M. Payne. He obtained the Master of Science degree in Biochemistry from University of Oklahoma under the supervision of Dr. Phillip E. Klebba. Li's research interests are in microbial pathogenesis, bacteriophage therapy, and bacterial iron metabolism.
