Biography
Dr. Adam Hudlow began serving as Assistant Professor of Music Theory at Northwestern State University in the fall of 2016. There, he teaches music theory, aural skills, form, and arranging at the graduate and undergraduate levels. He also serves as the staff music arranger for the Spirit of Northwestern marching band.
Before accepting his current position, he served as an Adjunct Instructor of Music theory at NSU from 2013-2016. He holds a Ph.D. in music theory from Louisiana State University, where he served as graduate teaching fellow in music theory from 2009-2012. While earning his MM from the University of Houston, he taught music theory and aural skills as a graduate teaching assistant from 2008-2009.
Dr. Hudlow’s research centers primarily on the music of Broadway composer Stephen Sondheim, music theory pedagogy, and popular music analysis.
