Faculty Profile
Biography
I was born and raised in the Shreveport/Bossier City area. I have been a radiologic technologist for 30+ years. I began my career in 1990 with a 2-year certificate from the School of Radiologic Technology at the LSU Medical Center. Most of my career was spent at the LSU Medical Center in Shreveport. During my time at LSU, I worked in the CAT Scan and MRI departments. I obtained my CT Certification in 1997, and my MRI certification in 2009. During my career I was privileged to work as a traveling technologist, having lived in Dallas, TX, Seattle, WA, Lexington, KY, and St. Thomas, USVI.
I started the pursuit of my bachelor's degree in the summer of 2002 while living in Kentucky. I enrolled in the RT to BSRS program at Northwestern State University in January 2005 and earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Radiologic Sciences in August 2007. I returned to Northwestern in January 2019 and began pursuing my Masters of Science in Radiologic Sciences degree; I graduated in December 2021. I immediately began working towards my Doctorate degree in Adult Learning and Workforce Development through the Gallaspy College of Education and Human Development at NSU and graduated in May 2025.
I became a full time faculty member of the School of Allied Health in November 2022, and have been fortunate enough to work with some great faculty members and students. It is great to see such dedicated individuals both in teaching and learning. I feel that the Northwestern State University School of Allied Health Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Sciences program graduates the best students who are more than capable of entering the demanding healthcare workforce. The Master of Science in Radiologic Sciences program makes great strides in preparing students for workforce leadership roles and the pursuit of a higher degree.
In the Fall of 2025, I became the coordinator of the RT to BSRS program. Having personally graduated from this program in 2007, I am fully aware of the importance and sense of accomplishment this program brings. Having pursued higher degrees while maintaining a fulltime workload, I feel that I can sympathize with non-traditional students who are attempting to fulfill their educational dreams and goals.
Lastly, While this profile may look impressive and extensive, I could not have accomplished all of these things or reached this place in my career without the grace, mercy, and guiding hand of my Lord Jesus Christ. There were times when I felt like giving up, the goal was unobtainable, and the tasks too numerous, but looking back, I am so thankful for the growth, maturation, and journey that has lead me to this place in my life.
